A somatic reset for the season ahead

Lisa Jennings touching a basket of fruit in the market

We are delighted to partner with our recent Coaching for Complexity program graduate, Lisa Jennings, for this beautifully human and body-centered seasonal offering, Rooting into Seasonal Rhythms: A Somatic Reset for the Season Ahead.

Workshop Overview

Many of us rush from summer into fall without pausing to acknowledge the shift. Nature doesn’t push summer energy through autumn. Trees don’t keep producing blossoms or fruit year-round. Yet, in our daily lives we often fall out of sync with natural rhythms striving to maintain the same pace at all times. Late September sits at a natural transition point:

  • Back-to-school chaos has settled
  • Summer energy is fading
  • The equinox marks a shift toward shorter days
  • “What season in life am I in now?”
  • “How do I prepare for what comes next?”

This workshop offers what so many of us are craving: a conscious transition that helps you arrive intentionally rather than simply reacting to the next season. In this seasonal threshhold crossing, we will use this space to:

  • Ground into the present moment
  • Notice where we are in our own cycles
  • Release what belonged to summer
  • Clarify what we want to cultivate through autumn
  • Connect with our inate humaness and the natural world we inhabit

What We’ll Do

  • Arrival + Introduction
  • Initial Grounding Exercise
  • Talk + Journal Prompt
  • Movement Practice
  • Reflection + Share
  • Closing

Who Is This Workshop For?

For you, me, or anyone seeking:

  • A calm pause
  • A chance to reflect and feel greater clarity
  • A light movement of energy in our subtle and physical bodies
  • Connection with ourselves and the natural systems around us

Cost

This is a free community offering with a suggested donation range of $15 – $35 for those who are able to contribute. Your generous donations help us create more accessible community-based offerings like this one.

More About Lisa Jennings

Lisa is a coach, movement artist, international facilitator and mother who works with people navigating change, transition, and the feeling that something in their lives is ready to shift.

Born and raised in Canada and based in Guatemala, Lisa’s background spans professional performance, business, experiential travel, entrepreneurship, and facilitation. Drawing on her experience as a dancer and movement practitioner, she brings an embodied, creative, and playful approach to coaching.

Lisa believes that our bodies can offer information and wisdom that thinking alone may not reveal. Somatic awareness, movement, creativity, and play can open new pathways for exploring what we need, what we want, and what may be ready to change.

She works with people navigating personal, professional, relational, or geographic transitions, as well as those experiencing a sense of stuckness without yet knowing what needs to evolve.

Her coaching offers an attuned space to slow down, listen inward, experiment, and reconnect with possibility. She sees change not simply as something to navigate, but as an opportunity to discover—and explore—what comes next.

Street art in Guatemala

Although coaching is fairly new as a formal profession, the process of finding new insights and awareness in dialogue with another person has likely existed for as long as humans have. So why does the story of the coaching industry always begin with a financial planner in North America, and end with the goal of maximizing labor productivity?

Join us as we center diverse human experiences and reground the his/herstory of coaching’s many lineages and origins and interrogate assumptions that have become foundational in mainstream coaching.

We unpack the history of white supremacist capitalism and how white supremacy culture’s values are embedded in the coaching industry, often in hidden ways. What are the emotions that come up for each of us around these topics? How might your own identities shape your engagement with the identities of others while coaching?

Develop a conscious lens to recognize the moments when white supremacy is creeping into your coaching methodology and join us as we reground coaching in our own values and radically imagine a more just and beautiful future.

This workshop is for everyone. Whether you are a seasoned coach or you haven’t yet started your coaching journey, come explore and learn with us!
